Inside the Jihad: My Life With Al Qaeda, a Spy's Story
By: Omar Nasiri
Publisher: Basic Books
Recently I was sent a galley-proof copy of this book to peruse, comment upon by a literary agent friend of mine.
This excellent book will be a spy fan’s meat! It is written about today’s current events & is highly informative. Pro-Fundamentalist Muslim& Al Qaeda supporters will not like this book. Ultra-leftwing Liberals will grind their teeth over it! It tells all & we see through the eyes of a man who is there exactly what the truth behind the terrorism & terrorist activities. This author’s true name & identify are carefully hidden & will be kept so. To expose him at this time or indeed anytime would lead to his death as well as the deaths of his family & friends.
"Inside the Jihad" an insider's account of Al-Qaeda, will be published in November by Basic Books, an independent publisher distributed by the Perseus Books Group.
“Omar Nasiri's description of life inside the Afghan training camps is more complete than any intelligence we had available to us in the 1990's," author & former CIA officer, Michael Scheuer, said
"As a micro-level description of the whole training process within the camps, Nasiri's account has, I believe, no peer in the publications of the American intelligence community."
"Inside the Jihad" covers 7 years in Nasiri's life. Beginning when he "became involved in Europe's burgeoning terrorist underground in the 1990's & then later became a spy for a leading Western intelligence service.
He has been to the streets of Pakistan, the training camps of Afghanistan & into the radical mosques of London. In his book, Nasiri offers a chilling & realistic perspective on the rise of Al-Qaeda as well as the intelligence services that struggle to contain it.
James Bond could never hold a candle to this man’s life!
Look for this book next month as soon as it is released!

However, I'm going to read it with at least a slight reserve of skepticism. For the sake of the safety of this man's life and his own family -- there's no way to verify it. There's been so much propaganda lately that I really want to have the credentials for anything I take seriously elaborately spelled out and verified at least three times over.
