Yes I am. Van Vance is one of my dearest friends, but I would have been a Louisville fan anyway. I also pull for Kentucky when they are playing each other.

Yeah Sandy.. I also pull for Kentucky when they play Louisville. Usually we have a good chance of a national champion coming out of Kentucky with UK and Louisville, but both of them have let us down the last few years.

Hi, Timothy. I'm sorry that Gather is becoming a waste of your time... I'm not from Kentucky, so I'm sorry. I live in Salem, Oregon. Have you done a search for people who live in Kentucky, or maybe try to post this article to more groups? There are a lot of "post anything" groups out there and if you need some ideas, you can go to my profile and see the groups I'm in. That might help you a little bit. I really like Gather so far. I've earned quite a few points and have met some pretty interesting people.

Timothy, I was born in Louisville, live in southern Indiana, have been a student at Indiana U., but I always pull for the blue-U of K. I HATED it when Petino left.

If you're looking for sports talk, you might try the Courier Journal forums, although I don't know how active they are. The New Albany Tribune is online as well.

My fav stretch-The little road that runs west into Adairville-way down on the KY-TN border-I don't know what the number or name is, but I loved the drive. It offered hair pin turns, long stretches of deep woods, a glance at the Red River & is my father's birthplace.

BTW, My Dad pulls for Louisville when they play Kentucky, and on the rare occasion that I get to watch UK and Loiusville play each other with him, it makes for some very interesting conversation let me tell you.

We have the same situation here, Timothy. One daughter and her husband are Kentucky fans, the other daughter and I are Louisville fans.

No, Timothy. The only times I've been in a room full of Tennessians during anything exciting it was music related. But I can imagine the basketball game would be exciting (or scary).

Scary is more like it. Blue, orange and red don't mix well together! lol

Born and raised in northwestern Kentucky, in a small town called Hartford. And that is Hartford, Kentucky -- not that eastern one. And yes, there are at least 2 Hartfords in the US.

UK, and like mentioned above - UL when they aren't playing UK. UL seems to have had a pretty good football team lately.

What's your favorite stretch of road in Kentucky ?

A little road in the foothills/mountains of eastern Kentucky that runs thru the Red River gorge. It is barely 2 lanes, and becomes 1 lane when it goes thru a tunnel during one part of the road. I will never forget that! Hills all around going up and down. No place to turn around, and the road becomes one lane and heads into this tunnel. But it is a beautiful drive. Other favorites are the Western Kentucky parkway - it runs thru some beautiful parts of Kentucky, and the William Nathcher Parkway which was originally called the Green River Parkway - this one runs thru my parents farm.

I like the WK parkway as well, very beautiful in the fall. The William Natcher Parkway is beautiful as well. I've driven thru your parents farm.

True American....Tennesse towns I've lived in are Bolivar, Camden, Dyersburg, Ripley, Union City and South Fulton. Dyersburg and Ripley were my favorites.

You can drive around Union City during basketball season, and UK flags are a common site! lol

My grandfather was born in Kentucky. Does that count? His parents were in a traveling acting group and happened to be somewhere, I don't know off-hand where, in Kentucky when it just happened. I know that in colonial times Kentucky was known as "The Dark and Bloody Ground" by the Indians. A lot of nice people are from Kentucky.

No, Timothy. That's on my mother's side and while there is a good family tree, there is no genealogy book. I know it as a story handed down. I'll ask my cousin if she knows. My grandfather's father, still traveling with a theatrical group, died in Hamilton Canada, so the story goes. After my grandfather was born, his mother went home to Sherborn MA and never traveled again. My grandfather's name was Jacob Bigelow Flagg.

Timothy - In answer to your question, my grandfather was born July 4, 1875 in Ludlow, KY.

I was born in Ft Campball Kentucky and raised until I was 5 y/o in Northern Kentucky (Erlanger/Florence area). We moved to Southern California, but I always remained a HUGE Cincinnati Reds fan and have always rooted for the Wildcats along with my favorite college team, the UCLA Bruins. Sorry. What can I say?

My favorite part of Kentucky is the bluegrass area near Lexington with all the horse farms and all. But I also like the Ohio River near Rabbit Hash. And you ain't lived until you have been to Rabbit Hash, Ky and been to the General Store there.

I also like going to Big Bone Lick State Park and I like Dixie Chili NOT Skyline or Gold Star!!! Real men like Dixie Chili!!! LOL!

Yeaaaaa....Kentuckians.....I was born in Cynthiana and now live in Seattle...I love BIG BLUE...I have a little "shrine" of UK at work and play the fight song for all my friends whenever the Wildcats play!! I am decked out in LIVE BLUE and whatever else I can find!!! I visit twice a year and love the whole state...From Ruth Hunt's pulled cream candy to Rebecca Ruth's Bourbon balls...my friends and family in Seattle love my Ky connections... March Madness is one of my favorite times of the year...especially if my boys are playing!!!! Don't get me wrong...I support my local team...but gotta say if they ever meet in the brackets....I'd be hard pressed to not follow my heart...it would be Big Blue all the way!!! Loved finding this group...hope to talk to you soon!!!!
