DO WE REMEMBER ?
When we are tired
when all our patience has drained away,
do we remember
the kindness of others who were tired too?
When the day is tired
when all of it's light has drained away,
do we remember
the light given our days by gifts of others?
When were bothered, interrupted
when all we want to do is yell at the cause
do we remember
the love we were given when we interrupted?
When we are judged
treated harshly, misunderstood and tossed aside rejected
do we remember
that we also judged, we have tossed others aside?
When they come knock
when asking for our help, pleading for relief
do we remember
the relief given us when we have never even asked?
When we see tears
when they are inconsolable, sodden with grief
do we remember
the comfort given us, our many tears wiped away?
When we spend money
buying gifts for those who have what they need
do we remember
the ones left without, not even food enough to eat?
When our life ends
when we have said goodbye to life and all it's wonders
will he remember
will we be worthy, will he welcome us home?

good advice for many
thank you
love and light
I guess sometimes I forget that others are struggling through life just as I am. Thanks for reminding me.
A very thoughtful and considerate poem. I suspect that the answer to many of these questions is no. But, perhaps reading more poetry of this kind can change that, eventually.
I hope you're full of energy.
