Looking for Creative Ways to Give Gifts

I am sorry. I can't top that. My kids are lucky to get gifts wrapped. They are usually still in Walmart bags.

You're good! Once, when I was young....my Mom placed a trail of pennies thru the house that led to my gift. (I was a latch-key kid for a while - so she had prepared this surprise for me to find when I got home from school)

I love that! Creativity in gift-giving is the best. Well...here are a couple of things I've done, but the treasure hunt idea is really good. One year on my 9th Anniversary, I had my husband open up 9 different gifts every hour and a half. I would have each gift represent something from that year of our marriage...including a photo from that year. Some of the gifts were small (but, hopefully meaningful...like a poem), and others were larger (like concert tickets).

I love that idea, and thanks for the comment about Mr. Whiskers. I don't have any great ideas for giving a gift but I do have one about how my fiancee asked me to marry him. I found he loves those gumball machines in the grocery store as you walk in and is always giving me quarters to get a prize or sticker or something. One day with his 2 kids in tow we stopped at the local grocery store and before getting any further than those machines he hands me a quarter to get another "treasure". Somehow when I was being distracted by the kids he had put my engagement ring in the little part that the prize falls into and in one of the little clear plastic eggs too. So when I got my prize I was excited to find not one but two little eggs, always a bonus. But to my surprise my ring and a little note saying "marry me?" were found in the one. Happy happy joy joy, although most people going into the store thought I was a bit strange for getting so excited about getting a ring from a gumbal machine.

Wow, that's way more creative than anything I could even hope to come up with! After reading this, I don't think I've ever found a creative way to give a gift.

I had a friend who made a love note/card to go with her gift and cut it up and put all the pieces into balloons. He popped all the balloons and put together to read. It was cute :)
