To all of our troops in battle,
to all of our troops who serve;
May the Lord bless and keep you,
showering you with the protection you deserve.
To all of the men and women
who fight so we may be free,
may we always appreciate
your dedication and bravery.
The road cannot be easy;
Sometimes you must feel so alone
missing your friends and family
and the shores of your American home.
You see your comrades wounded in battle
or dying along the way;
What a helpless feeling to have;
"Lord, give them strength", we pray.
Amidst the political chaos,
and the debate regarding the war,
We know that you are dedicated to your country
And that is what you are fighting for.
Peace is not a given;
It comes with a price so high;
Your courage is admirable
For peace, you are willing to die.
Thank you for your sacrifice
And the price you are willing to pay;
Your efforts are appreciated;
Hopefully we will welcome you home one day.

We are sending Christmas cards to many, many troops this year. With your permission, I would like to include this in each card.
Wow, this could be included in the cards Amy sends out...Do you know what that means? Many many people will see this!
Incredible, Cheryl.
I think that is right and just.
Amy...by all means, feel free to include this poem in your Christmas cards to the troops. As I was writing it, I was wishing there was a way that they could read the words of support, for I believe many do not feel supported. Thank you for allowing me to share in your Christmas project.
