JUDGING

finding an impartial judge will be a bit hard on gather. And i have to admit im a bit clueless when it comes to photography terms and the make up of what makes a good photo. but there are quite a few on here that do finding one that will want to take the time to do it may not be easy either that was one of the reasons why when i was considering a photo challange type group I changed my mind because i wouldnt want to have to be the one to say your photo is not as good as everyone elses LOL i just dont have the heart to do it

Good points. I honestly don't think the judge needs to be a professional photographer. This group has a lot of hobbyists that take photos for fun and to put it on a professional level would not be desirable to me. I would like to keep it where it is judged based on merit of the assignment, and how well the poster met the criteria of said challenge. Therefore, any one of us could be the guest judge and I will probably chose someone from the group. Of course, they wouldn't be able to participate in that month's challenge, but they would be able to use their personal knowledge and love of photography to come to a conclusion on three winners. I want to keep it fun!!

Oh, and I surely don't want people feeling that their photos weren't "good enough"... never would I suggest that. This is just for fun and just because someone doesn't win the challenge this month, doesn't mean they won't in the upcoming months.

It's all about having fun and getting out there and taking pics!

think that this is fair because when it comes down to voting, it can become a free-for-all of who can organize the best and I am already tired of photoforums where ego plays a dominant part along with mutual admiration clubs. is better this way I think.

How about the last winner becomes the judge as well as picking the topic?
