Tijuana has a fascinating atmosphere full of cultural events. All of its nightclubs, restaurants, ethnic taco shops and shopping stores are always busy and full of life. Tijuana offers fantastic buys and bargains on international and national brands of perfumes, watches, jewelry, high fashions , shoes, Mexican souvenirs and much more.
Take a walk or shop on Ave. Revolution for the real Tijuana shopping experience. Street Vendors sell handmade jeweler, purses, trinkets, offering arts and crafts, liquor/tobacco stores and clothing boutiques.
This is the place for haggling. (aka the great bargain) Merchants are set up at every available space to tempt your shopping will with almost anything you can think to purchase. You'll find shops not only here, but spread out in every possible direction. (That extend to side streets and open alleyways.)
Zona Rio offers modern shopping malls. Both Ave Revolution and Zona Rio offer fine restaurants and sidewalk cafes. Plaza Rio Shopping Center is a luxury mall with fine restaurants and stores. It has three large movie theaters and a double decker carousel. The Plaza Rio mall show the modernization and development of Tijuana which is always changing. Zona Rio is a different kind of mall from the stores in the famous avenida Revolution.
Watch a bullfight. Tijuana has two bullfighting rings (plaza de toros). One you'll find downtown off of Blvd. Agua Caliente and the other in Playas Tijuana on the way to Rosarito called Plaza Monumental or the "bullring-by-the-sea".
Go see a Greyhound race. The Agua Caliente racetrack offers races daily. You'll find sports betting here and a restaurant.
The Tijuana cultural center and Museum are a must see.
The cultural center has many exhibitions that are worth the trip.( like the painting by Diego Rivera a collection of Zunigas works )
If you like the dance and Drama they have presentations of the Russian Ballet and French play.
Mexitlan Park Cultural center for tourists have 200 scale models of Mexico's most famous sites of Mexico.

Don't miss the Wax Museum. Museo Cera is one of Latin America's only wax museums. You can walk from Ave Revolution through a street or two before you reach the museum. There are many street vendors along the way. Yes, you may see a few velvet Elvis paintings. They also have beautiful blankets, beads, and leather goods. (Only to name a few)
Go Wine tasting at Winery LA Cetto. This winery offers a tour of the building where they have a presentation on the process involved in wine production and bottling.
Unless your going to check out the nightlife, its best to visit Tijuana during the day.
Friday and Saturday nights you'll find hundreds of California youngsters out and about.
(18 is the drinking age in Mexico)
For an overnight stay I recommend The Rosarito Beach Motel, just outside of Tijuana.
Whatever you choose to do when visiting Tijuana, make sure you take a photo wearing a big sombrero sitting on a cart being pulled by a zebra.
(Oh yes, a painted Mexican donkey). You have not been to Tijuana until you have one of those..

Tequila Sunrise upstairs for beer, wine and volleyball.
What a combo, I know.
The Caves are a really cool old club. You walk downstairs into a cave type bar and nightclub with 2 dance floors.
Those are the only two that stand out in my mind.
It has been a few years since I have been there.
Papas & Beer in Rosarito Beach is very nice. An "on the beach" club.
The sand is part of the club property. They also have volleyball right on the sand, in the club.
I have several sombrero photos, with probably the same
poor "zebra"
I gave him some of my taco, the poor thing.
"Ave Revo" is a place I dont mind shopping in. ( That says TONS because I HATE to shop)
Thanks for the memories.
I have to take another trip there soon.
