up close and personal - the eyes have it

last week, we went to the local orchard to get apples, cider, and donuts. of course, the REAL reason we went was to go to their petting zoo. they have animals from all over the world - emu and wallabies, reindeer, bunnies, goats, a burro, horses, camels, zebras, peacocks, etc., etc. so strange, to have all these animals in our dinky town.

lillie prepared for the outing by donning a dress with an artistic hemline, a scarf, pink metallic shoes, and a sequined sweater. dahling!  we played, ed ran with her, we learned about animals (and fed them), and enjoyed a nice fall day together.

This is absolutely great jessie . I love the way you are expanding your photo vocabulary. This was an exceptionally clever idea - photos of the animal eyes. The photo of the apples contrasting with the wood is spectacular stuff. You just get better and better.

Bongo, it would be too simple to just rate and not comment........I think the author likes to know if you liked it or not..........or at least who looked and rated...........
I too rated it a 10, because it deserves more, but 10 is the highest I'm given to give.....;-)))

some truly fantastic pictures here-- you need to submit some of them to photography contests, especially if you are near a petting zoo-- this is really great.

this site is so fked that it took over 2hours to open the page and had to sign through registration twice to post a note

and is almost impossible to do anything --so it really takes away any pleasure from visiting your beautiful pages and unfortunately the gather servers also don't seem to know how to load images, but do very well with advertising. strange.

Jessie, this was wonderful. I was able to walk around, in my mind, and share the day with you. That apple, straight from the orchard was so good. Lillie is such a doll and she seemed to be in her element with all the animals.

The last time we went to a fall orchard petting zoo, I petted a calf that was in one of the little white huts with the fenced front. The calf licked my hand and it had this most awful, slimy stuff draining out of its nose that got on my hand. I never forgot it and haven't petted a calf since. Other than that the trip was fun. Loved your photos!
