I just had the pleasure of travelling to Thailand for a couple of weeks. While I made a bare-bones attempt to learn the language (hello, thank you, etc), there was no way I was going to be able to read any Thai. Have you seen the script for Thai? It's beautiful, very fluid, with lots of rounded bits on the front and back ends.
My favorite language to look at, tho, has to be Arabic. I've just never seen any lettering so stylized and beautiful, no matter what the type font. Of course, I also adore all the latin languages, particularly when written using calligraphy. Japanese and Korean and Chinese are all beautiful, too, but in a different way. I think I appreciate the individual characters more, or seeing an entire page filled with print. In other languages I might be more interested in looking at individual phrases, or poems.
Do you have a favorite script? How about a favorite letter? Or word? I remember one of my friends in my high school French class said his two favorite words were "chuchoter" (to whisper - pronounced 'shoo-show-tay') and "chatouiller" (to tickle - pronounced 'shah-twee-yay').

Glutton and mutton, coincidentally, being just a couple of my favorite words.
Nice article. I enjoyed it.
