Dear people,
I just thought I'd let you know I am thinking about you. I haven't 'met' everyone here though, so, maybe I should explain a bit about me. I am not politically minded, for the most part, nor do I tend to get myself in the middle of religious arguments. I like dogs mostly, and cats some, but have neither at this time. I'm addicted to one thing besides chocolate, and I think many here have the same addiction(according to some of the posts I've read.) I'm not extremely outspoken and I'm a very easy going person that likes to do some writing.
Speaking of writing, I enjoy the Gather site, a place where I can read other writers work as well as post my own.. There are many good writers on this site! There are places for me to make comments after I read the posts, and I can also rate it, whether it be story, poem, or even games.
I have posted some things, mostly poems, on this site, and gotten some comments myself. It seems though, that it has been like pulling hens' teeth, to get any comments or ratings. I think I would actually faint, if I got 15-20 comments/ratings. Also, most likely, my next of kin would have to make my funeral arrangements, if I got 100 or more!
I suppose, if I look on the bright side, it's a good thing I don't have a hundred enemies, or they would see an easy way to get rid of me. All they would have to do is get me to the 100th. comment/ratings mark!
Please, if you meet any of my enemies, don't tell them my secret. I would like to live a bit longer. That being said though, I think I may as well throw caution to the wind. Go ahead, rate my writing. Post comments. What better way to go out, knowing that others have actually read something I've written, and taken time to make their comment?
If , by chance I was to get that many comments, my epitaph could be: She died at the write time.
Almost Sincerely,
Virginia

Marlena, Thanks, I look forward to droping by sometime
Paul, I look forward to getting acquainted. I sure am glad you can keep secrets;)
First you have to write for you and then for others. It's like being an artist or musician, there is not a lot of money in it,certainly not for the majority of folks who do it.I write from my heart about my own experiances.I write to freeze in time,my thoughts, that I might share them with just a few others who really care.If it should become something else, que sera, sera.Stay well, write for you,and enjoy what may come."Live long and prsper"(Spock-Star Trek II)
I didn't know about you until just now, but I can see I like you already. Good sense of humor will take you a long ways in Gather.
One way to make more connections with people you like or similar views is to read, read, read others works and then comment, comment, comment on them...and yes, make connections with people you meet along the way..........Before you know it, more people will be reading you and commenting.....and there will be no need to plan a funeral the day you get 100 or more comments, because it will be your due by then!!!!
Welcome to Gather!
