I'm so excited! I hit the half way mark about ten minutes ago! I am at 25,001 words!
After a really bad day in which I wrote almost nothing, I wrote for a little while about 2 AM. Then for a short while this afternoon. I'm in a good spot right now. A lot will happen in the next chapter and it should come fairly quick.
I had set my goal for 30,000 for tonight but after yesterday, I'm not sure that I will get there but I am going to give it a try!
Where is everyone else? How are you doing?

Marilyn...thank you, too. It's because of the support I get from people when I say I am writing a novel that i keep going.
Thankyou again, David.
Right now I'm about 3,000 words behind. Not horrible, but not great either. Not much can be done sometimes, but to deal and to hope to make up what you missed another day.
You can improve your word count by having dream/nightmare sequences which can be repeated with slight modifications.
Your character(s) can reiterated occurences or conversations to others who were not present at the time.
Your characters can write journal/diary entries that can reveal their thoughts and feelings about something that happened or may happen.
My novel lends itself to this but maybe yours doesn't. If you can fit them in, though it might help with the word count.
Good luck!
Oh, I am currently at 39,301 and plan on getting to 40,000 by midnight tonight (I have a little under three hours so it should be more than doable).
I'm not looking for gratuitous word count boosts, just going to try to do it like I would if not for NaNo - quality wise. If I make it fine. If not. Oh well. Illness between me and my son will do that. ;)
As for the diary I can't do that since I already have a diary here and there in it. (My detective is going through the victim's diary for clues.) The rest probably won't fit.
My problem isn't needing filler. My plot is more than large enough to fill 50,000 words. My problem is having time, health and brain power to write. Unfortunately there's not much of a cure for most of that. ;) I'm just going to give it my best shot, but if I don't make it I don't make it. My well being and my son's has to come first.
Congrats on your progress, though. Hopefully I'll get better and can catch up.
