hope and comfort

To a  friend who is in the last stages of "Lou Gehrig 's Disease"

 

Our lives cross and intertwine

Neighbors, family and kindly friends

When as on this road we find

It does turn and curve and wind

 

We do not know what lies ahead

Though we know the path behind

Thanks to all who a kind word said

Were it that we might have a sign

 

We know not when and where we must go

We only hope we have done our best

That we have reached our finest goal

And touched souls before our rest

 

So though we cannot bear to part

Yet our souls shall be together yet

Love is the way that our lives start

And love is not gone when the sun does set

Great tribute Carol, but ohhh so sad. My hubby helped with a benefit yard sale yesterday for a fellow worker with Lou Gehrig's disease. His co-worker is between quiting work and getting a disability check. The workers collected $1,066.
