A picture is attached to this article showing the end result. A nice (cheap!) craft is decorating picture frames using paper beads. The frame I used I picked up for $1 at the Dollar Store (making sure it had glass or plastic to protect the image). Then I decorated it using paper beads that I made from magazine pages. This can be done by cutting the paper into small triangular strips and rolling it up over a toothpick, gluing the tip (start rolling at the base of the bead). Then I glued them to the frame using craft glue). You can use any color of magazine pages, even pages with text, but I wanted shades of blue to match the photo that I plan to use this frame for of a friend and I in front of the ocean.
Let me know if you give this a shot and how it works out. It took me a long time to finish this (it requires a lot of beads!) but its easy to do while watching tv. If you want, you can go over it with clear nail polish after you're done to make it shinier and protect the beads.
