We went to bed a bit early last night. I think we are fighting off a cold or some sort of sickness. Sleep was pretty restful until about 2 AM, when we were awakened by our next door neighbor's dog. Yes, she was barking. Non-stop so I couldn't tell if others were too or not. I got up after listening to it for about 5 minutes. Sleep certainly eluded me. I peeked out the window and saw nothing. She seemed to be barking at nowhere in particular. A pause allowed me to hear some dogs in the distance. I don't know if she was barking at them or vice versa. My husband (who sleeps through ANYTHING) woke up and listened too. He finally got up and checked around outside. I think after 30 minutes of this madness, the dog finally got quiet and we were able to go back to sleep. 6 AM, she was at it again and then again at 7 AM.
It's times like this, I don't miss having a dog. Yes, they are good for protection, but sometimes, they bark to listen to themselves. You can train your own dog to be silent, but what do you do about your neighbor's?

maybe your neighbor should train their dog better . .
