Pain is the deep sorrow
when a life finally passes
from the concrete
to the elusive thoughts
of imagination and
memories hidden
way down in the darkness
of the mind.
Pain is the hollowness left
behind after he stopped
coming to me; the absence
of his laughter and his
invaluable insight into
life and living...
the emptiness in my
shattered heart that had
mended ffrom before,
only to once again erupt.
Pain is a living death or
is it a dying life?
Pain is not foreign...
It is here and it is there.
Pain is deep in my aching soul.
Pain is at the core of my salty tears.
Pain lives where life has died
and it inhabits death that
lives on.

And today, this simply fits my mood. Tonight, I can honestly say that I am in this kind of pain.
