You're like me, you're just looking for your next fix. You need that one thing that makes you feel good. There are different things and different ways to feel good, but we all seek them out.
I remember growing up, it would be something as simple as showing Mom some artwork I had done. You remember that feeling don't you? You're riding home on the school bus and you're excited, because you think you've done a pretty good job on this art project, and you can't wait for your mom to see it. She's going to tell you how much she loves it (confirming what you already know--that it is a masterpiece) and she's going to hang it in the Mother's Gallery (aka the Fridge).
You sit in your seat, antsy, as the bus creeps along its route. You see the familiar hills and trees and nearby houses that mark the way home. You come up the last hill and around the last corner where you'll make your escape. Home! The doors snap open and you bolt out of your seat, missing two of the steps as you jump out the door. You sprint down the driveway and cut across the law, cognizant of protecting your masterpiece but also keenly aware of your urgent purpose. You leap from the lawn to the porch and are instantly at the front door. You enter the living room, deposit your books in a chair, and proceed to the kitchen clutching your slightly damaged creation in both hands. Mom has had a busy day, but you don't even notice.
"Hey Honey, how was school?" This is her usual salutation.
You answer her by holding up your masterpiece saying, "Mom, look what I did?"
She makes your day by telling you, "That's wonderful Honey!" She takes it from your hands, gives it a closer inspection and posts it to the Whirlpool refridgerator.
With a hug, you sigh and feel like everything is right in the world. You have that little boy feeling of "sigh of contentment" and it's one of the greatest feelings in the world.
