For years, we've been hearing stories from ordinary people about seeing unidentified flying objects – everything from discs and triangles, to huge objects that hover silently from a matter of seconds to several hours. We've also heard or read of countless cases of abductions. Well, it's pretty easy to dismiss Farmer Brown or Miss Redmond down the block perhaps.
However, now that many of the world's military personnel have retired or left the force, we are beginning to hear the same information from these highly distinguished people. Maybe, it's time to really take the issue of UFOs seriously. The sad part is that while these people are now free to speak up, government secrecy has increased dramatically.
Most recently in the news was a former British defence minister who says a UFO project he once headed up has now been closed leaving the country wide open to an alien invasion. Nick Pope just recently resigned from his post at the Directorate of Defence Security where he had the inside scoop on UFO sightings over the United Kingdom. He has expressed great concern that project "X-Files", which he ran between 1991 and 1995 is now "virtually closed" down, leaving the country "wide open" to aliens.
"The consequences of getting this one wrong could be huge," he said adding that extraterrestrials could attack at any time.
"If you reported a UFO sighting now, I am absolutely sure that you would just get back a standard letter telling you not to worry. 'Frankly we are wide open - if something does not behave like a conventional aircraft now, it will be ignored.
Mr. Pope, who is recognized as a leading authority on UFOs hopes that his professional credentials will be enough to get people to listen to his concerns. He notes that when he first took on the job, he was very skeptical about UFOs. However, after reading the ministry's classified files about various UFO investigations, he gradually changed his mind. However, he says "highly credible" sightings are simply dismissed.
One of the most convincing cases was the sighting of a "vast, triangular-shaped craft" spotted flying over the Royal Air Force (RAF) bases in the West Midlands in 1993, which was witnessed by not only police and military personnel, but also hundreds of other people in the area over a period of several hours.
Another striking case occurred at the RAF bases in Suffolk in 1980. Bright lights were reported coming from a wooded area nearby, so personnel were dispatched to investigate a possible plane crash. Instead, they found "a kind of lunar landing module standing on three legs, which then flew off. The indents left in the ground were found to emit 10 times the normal levels of radiation."
"In my time I would brief the more interesting sightings up the chain of command to people like the chief of the Air Staff and would get the answer back that it was very interesting and I had clearly done a good job investigating it and that was it, " says Mr. Pope. "Every one is a piece of a puzzle but no one takes it seriously. There needs to be more resources and people who are prepared to look past the philosophical issues, look at the reports and investigate them properly."
According to a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence, all UFO sightings are investigated. However, if there isn't enough evidence to suggest that U.K. airspace has been compromised by hostile or unauthorized aircraft, no more is done about it.
Mr. Pope says that while there is no real evidence that any visiting aliens would be hostile, it cannot be totally ruled out.
"There has got to be the potential for that and one is left with the uneasy feeling that if it turned out to be so, there is very little we could do about it," he said. "If you believe these things are extraterrestrial craft then you cannot rule out that what is happening is some kind of covert reconnaissance."
Mr. Pope has appeared on BBC Newsnight and Radio 4's programs and has been a consultant on a number of UFO documentaries. He says now that he has left the defence ministry, he will continue to research and investigate UFOs.
Mr. Pope is certainly not the only former military man to come forward with information on UFOs. One only has to go to the Disclosure Project (http://www.disclosureproject.org) headed by Dr. Steven Greer to read about a host of military people in the United States, Canada and elsewhere who are now bravely stepping forward to tell what they know. I, for one, think we should be listening.

First: The Roswell Files
Second: Area 51
These are a few know experimental governmental sites, and people were told they were merely halucinating, forgot one small thing a few people acutally know how to use Video and took video shots and turned in the infomormation to the news channels.
For a fact another phenomina if you will, crop circles! Try it. People are not capable of such perfect circles without leaving a trace, this trace I reference is this if you ever been involved in Law Enforcement on thing we are taught is called collecting evidentiary material its never the same it all depends on the scene like Laci Peterson's and Scott Peterson murder case for example. It is entirely imposible to leave without a trace of evidentiary matter for example hair samples, fibric samples from clothing etc., people don't realize this even the very tip of your fingers has certain type of oil unique to that person, male or female. If we have a life form on planet earth known as humans, how is it possible the other planets do not have life form? It isn't! The government went to excruciating extremes to say there is no Area 51, in fact there's a lot more than mere Area 51. Its highly classified information. However; the public civilian sector has now become involved because of the retired employees who left the facilities after they retired and are now not only writing books about what was withheld from the public. For example did you see the Syvelster Stalone movie in which his body was held in liquid form? Its true Area 51 does in fact have such containment units with beings in them, not like us in the sense we have looks (look into the mirror to understand this one) these particular beings are not in any way like us, skin flesh so forth.
Or something else just as good. Until then, they don't exist.
I so agree with Elsie's comments on Area 51. My dad explained about it when we were very young and at that time I admit I was "a doubting tomas" too. I believe U.F.O.'s will be taken seriously when they invade our world and hold us hostage. By that time it will be too late. Great article!
There are many who vibrate so differently from us that only those who are "awake" clairvoyantly can perceive them. They're quite real.
Whether one thinks they're helpful or harmful often depends on the state of one's detatchment and ability to call on inner resources...
Crop circles are not an ET phenomenon, but rather messages from our Mother the Earth, facilitated by the Devic Realm (Angelic beings working with Earth-plane energies)
Carolion: I am sure there are helpful beings as well. I agree that there are angels, guides and the spirits of loved ones watching out for us. There may even be good aliens, who believe in One Source. However, as with this world, there is likely both good and evil beings.
The existence of UFOs/aliens will not be widely accepted unless and until the Scientific Establishment (NOT the government) has the body of an alien on the dissecting table or the wreckage of what can only be an extraterrestrial vehicle. Only when these things have been examined by a distinguished panel with impeccable credentials, and the findings presented to the public, without government censorship, will they be taken seriously.
This is the same problem with the sasquatch issue. Even though a small number of respected scientists have taken a pro-sasquatch stance, even though there are many credible witnesses, even though there is a large body of physical evidence, the Scientific Establishment won't consider the idea until a corpse is tossed in front of them.
On the other hand, if we were to undergo a "War of the Worlds" type invasion, we'd probably see quite a few more converts, dont'cha think?
Thanks.
John: Sounds like a good show. I agree that some of the sightings may well be military aircraft, but not all of them. I just saw a show myself a few nights ago about Roswell and the information for and against. It is hard to dismiss the first-hand accounts of what fell from the sky that night and the bodies found, especially when these people don't even know each other.
Lets suppose that the world governments were to come clean about another race from another world, lets say they had something that we as common people could use to our advantage..like..a renewable energy source, that would give us all freedom from, lets say buying oil The revenue that the governments would lose would make them broke, plus that fact that our governments would lose control of us..the common people.
There are a million reasons why they do not want us to know the truth...who knows one day we will know, perhaps we are not going to like it..perhaps we will who knows huh?
