- Memories of brown paper packages (yes, tied up with string)
- Having all the windows in the house open and the fragrance of my roses wafting in.
- Sitting on my deck with a cold drink and reading a favorite book.
- Hearing our grandchildren say, "Hi Grandma!"
- Seeing our son, his wife and the grandkids.
- Paying off a bill.
- Sending a greeting card to a friend.
- Getting a greeting card from a friend.
- Hot chocolate with whipped cream.
- Having a brother who loves me as much as I love him.
- Having lots of women friends that I can talk to about girly stuff.
- Having a daughter-in-law who is also my friend.
- Doing genealogical research for our family and others.
- Finding pictures of ancestors that I never thought I would see.
- Pumpkin pie, or just the filling with a dash of rum flavoring.
- Walking into a library.
- Going to Victoria, BC
- Riding the train to Leavenworth in the winter for the lighting ceremony.
- Being with friends and family for a cookout, potluck, etc.
- When I see that my friends and/or family are doing well and happy too.
- Watching "It's A Wonderful Life"…again.
- Singing along to the music I love: 60's, 70's and 80's rock.
- Being allowed to be "me".
- Being treated with respect.
- Trying on new shoes that are comfortable and fit.
- Buying new underwear.
- Seeing that one of the people I voted for has won.
- Snuggling with my kitty.
- Warm sunshine on my shoulders.
- Memories of times with my mother.
- Memories of just being an innocent kid.
- Recent pictures of our grandchildren.
- Talking politics with my friend.
- Seeing old friends after many years apart.
- Memories of living in Germany.
- Learning a new skill.
- Teaching someone a new skill.
- A glass of good wine (of which I can no longer partake) with nibbles of cheese and crackers.
- Seeing a formation of migrating birds.
- A beautiful sunset.
- Great sex with someone who loves me.
- Knowing that I made someone smile today.
- Laying in bed and talking to someone I love.
- Fantasizing about men.
- Traveling with someone who is fun.
- Cooking a meal I know someone will appreciate.
- Being verbally hugged.
- Knowing I have made one cat life better by rescuing a cat.
- Eating a memorable meal at Anthony's.
- Catching sight of an eagle soaring overhead.
- Watching the hummingbirds that come to my feeder.
- Finding a ladybug and putting it on my roses.
- Drinking eggnog while addressing Christmas cards.
- Walking on a Florida beach at sunset.
- Just being in a Ritz Carlton Hotel, not as an employee.
- Dressing up for dinner at the Ritz.
- Beautiful dinnerware and glassware.
- A Holiday table set and ready for guests.
- Petting our cat as he lays in the warm morning sun.
- That someone's surgery went well and they are doing well.
- Shoveling snow for my elderly neighbors.
- Being included in family gatherings.
- Being a member of Gather.
- Having the means to make others around me happy.
- Getting to know people from other countries.
- Getting past a dead end in my genealogy.
- A cup of regular coffee with cream.
- Spending time in ID with my friend and just relaxing.
- Making my brother laugh.
- A nice warm soak in the tub.
- A warm massage.
- Being able to keep a secret.
- Contemplating deep thoughts, or deep space.
- Watching old musicals.
- Reading about medical breakthroughs.
- Having lunch at the "Doll House" in my town.
- Thinking about the day that we can go with our son and his family to the Empress Hotel in Victoria for High Tea.
- Touring "Rose Farm" in Oregon City, and knowing I am related to the Holmes family, and can prove it.
- Being a member of the DAR.
- Knowing that my ancestors helped create this country.
- Knowing that my family has helped defend our country.
- Thinking about a fantasy vacation that involves riding the "Royal Scotsman".
- Thinking about being related to Robert the Bruce.
- Really listening when an older person is telling a story about their life.

- Fishing for bluegills on a warm summer day.
