There's good news this morning, and I've been breathing a sigh of relief since watching the election results last night and this morning...I'm not too happy about Florida's voting for a Republican Governor though I really didn't expect anything different but I'm very happy we will have a Democratic Senator...It's so close for the Senate race though, and much depends on the vote in Virginia and Montana...Keeping my fingers crossed on those.
But the House is Ours...
The best news yet, just broke...RUMSFELD HAS RESIGNED....what is it they say about rats leaving a sinking ship...LOL
More good news came in my mailbox this morning from the Humane Society..I've copied it below
Michigan voters stepped up for mourning doves, crushing Proposal 3 on the ballot and restoring the 100-year tradition of protecting the state's official bird of peace from target shooting. The vote was 68 percent to 32 percent. The Humane Society of the United States spearheaded the effort to protect mourning doves, from garnering more than 1,000 endorsements to relentlessly canvassing the state in support of the issue. Michigan voters listened, and the gentle backyard songbird will remain safe from target shooters.
In Arizona, humane treatment of farm animals won the day when voters cast their ballot in favor of Proposition 204, which bans gestation crates for breeding pigs and veal crates for young calves. Agribusiness and other special interests spent $2.5 million to defeat Proposition 204. It is the second state in the nation to ban gestation crates and the first state to ban veal crates. The vote was 61 percent in favor and only 39 percent opposed.
This has made me wear a big grin today as well...
It's good news for Doves and farm animals and for those who care...I'm sure the more than 30 or so Doves that come to my bird feeders everyday would coo a little happier if they knew.
Just watched Bush in his press conference when he spit out the words, The Democrats won!! Joy of joy just to see his face as he said that...what an attitude he has........Geez..He just said "stay the Course" unbelievable ...
