It is 5:00 pm, which means it is suppertime. My 8 month old son, Andrew, is being very vocal about it as I prepare his jars of chicken stew with garden vegetables and banana/plum/applesauce. He has eaten only 4 hours ago, and is used to this routine, but tonight he seems especially hungry. He is sitting at my feet, reaching for my skirt as he tries to pull himself up to standing. I bend down, pick him up and place him securely in his highchair. Sitting in front of him, I begin to feed him spoonful by spoonful and he gleefully eats each bite as if it were his last.
Suddenly, he reaches his hand up to his forehead. He touches his hair. He has done this many times today, scrunching it, pulling at it. It seems he has just discovered it. But this time he doesn't scrunch, he just keeps his hand on his head. He continues to jabber as he eats, no signs of any pain. What is he really thinking? Or does he have a headache? He continues this pose for a minute or two. Long enough for me to get the camera in place and capture this "Kodak Moment."

Before you call and report me: I don't let my son eat off the floor! I do sweep, he just gets the occasional missed macaroni noodle or biscuit crumbs. Of course, he might get a worm or leaf in his mouth before I can get those up as well. hehe! I don't want to list the things I remember eating, and what I don't remember!
