I am curious how others are doing. We haven't heard from many of you. Is anyone else curious?
How is it going? What are your ups and downs?
Do you have any pearls of wisdom you'd like to pass on?
Let's see your word counts, or at least let us know you are still alive and kicking!
It's awfully quiet out there!

Word Count as of 12:36 AM Pacific time, 14,141. And that's good because I have a ragged throat and a fever so I may have to slow down.
My daughter cannot get used to it. She lived in L.A. for 21 years and moved here last August. She can't get used to how cold it is here after the sun goes down. And windy.
Good luck fighting the heat! I do not envy you one bit.
I am hoping today will be a better day but I am not going to worry too much about it, as I have a nice cushion of words at the moment.
I think if all goes as I plan, and it rarely does, I should hit my 50K around 12 days early. That said, I don't think 50K will be the end of my novel. I think it will end up somewhere around 60K. So I will keep writing once I reach 50K. Then I will print out and do some editing. I will probably trash 10K in the first edit; maybe more.
Happy writing and good luck!
The good news is that I'm at a nice easy section and it's flowing very nicely (thus my closing in on the gap) To view my updated progress, you can peek at this link:
http://www.nanowrimo.org/NanowrimoUtils/ProgressReport/126354.html
It updates when I update my word count on site. If you'd like to see yours just put your ID number in where mine is (126354) and voila! Your progress report. :)
One more good tidbit of news is that I undoubtedly have a 50K word plot here to work with. I have over 50 plot points. Assuming each one is minimally 1,000 words (most will probably exceed that) I've already got the material for the 50K. Now I just need to Sit Butt In Chair and Write. (and hope cute toddler behaves, lol)
Is there anything any of us can help with, research-wise? As you may have noticed, I have posted here on Gather a few times when I have needed help on scenes. Gatherites are great help.
I don't know if you remember but one of the things that Chris Baty says in his book is that when you get to a spot you have to come back to fill in or change, you should type it in ALL CAPS so it will be an easy reminder. I have been doing that. It does help.
I didn't write but 500 words on on Monday and Tuesday only about 1500. I have a horrible sore throat and fever.
My curent count, as of ten minutes ago is 15,642. I am hoping to get to 19,000 by tomorrow night. That will probably mean taking the laptop to bed with me and writing from there. I really feel crappy. It's 2:30 AM here. I did not begin to write my Tuesday section till Wednesday AM, early, early. I wrote for an hour.
Good luck. Keep us posted. I hope your toddler behaves, too. My 16 y/o is keeping me busy. She's sick, too. And I have to drive her places because she doesn't drive yet.
Write on!
I forgot, the link above is my progress report. They say if I continue on current pace I can finish by day 19!!! Wow! If only!
As for the research issues I'm not really sure if you all could help or not, but I suppose it would not hurt to get it out there.. I'm just haveing zero luck finding it online (part of it, anyway) and the police list hasn't responded on it yet either.. and might not at all. *Sigh*
I thought I read something about also putting parts you hate and want to dissappear in italics or better yet in white font, so you won't feel the urge to go back and edit - YET.
Sounds like you are more than ahead of the game on your novel! Congrats. Maybe if I keep at the rate I'm going at now I can have some semblance of a cushion under myself for those unavoidable rough days.
My son's been resting a lot - which means a lot of quiet time for me, but I'm so distracted with concern over his wellbeing that writing is still becoming an issue to get done.
I am shaking. I just wrote what was probably the most difficult thing I have ever had to write.
Struggling through really emotional stuff. It leaves me wiped out for the day and unable to write til the late, late night.
I might still be able to pull this off, but it won't be easy. I'm still dealing with my son's illness and odd sleep schedules (he's awake when I should be sleeping.. so I get no sleep at all.) But that's life, right?
I hope your little one get better soon and that you have a little easier time soon!
