I can hardly wait

We (my husband and I) went Christmas shopping for our children and bought a clothing article for each of them. My daughter is 4 year old, will be 5 in December, and she LOVES the color pink. So I bought her a GAP sweater - you guessed it, in pink. It looks warm and cozy enough that I would love to wear it! Anyway, this is something that she needs. She had a thick coat for cold weather and jacket for rain/wind, but no sweater just for the cooler evenings or chilly mornings.

Well, since we bought it as a Christmas present, my husband INSISTS that we wait until Christmas to give it to her. I have to agree, but at the same time, I know it is somewhat of a need for her. She wore a cute pink and purple outfit to church yesterday. I thought immediately of that sweater and indicated to my hubby that it would look so good with that dress. "Yes, it will." was his reply as we walked out the door.

I remember years and years of Christmases when I could hardly wait to open gifts as a child, but now, I can hardly wait to give it to her.

Anyone else fighting these urgings?

I have done that before, I haven't even begun to shop this year as my kids get older it gets harder to find something they will enjoy and more expensive, I have picked up a few shirts and layed them on my desk in my room the kids were getting ready for school a few weeks ago and put on the new shirts,I can't say take them off they were for chrismas..I have to learn to hide things Imediately,They looked nice a early christmas bonus I guess :) Back to the beginning of shopping.

Our children are grown and left home already but we have Grandchildren. We are going to drive 9 hours to be with them on Thanksgiving and I so want to take their Christmas Gifts to them. The troulbe it.........i want to give them to them..LOL
Christmas is for Children and Children at heart.

I fight them all the time....I fix the urge though by wrapping as soon as possible and decorating the boxes with bows and ribbons. Then I don't want to ruin them by opening them....give it a shot, it works for me! LOL
