I wonder how legal fuel surcharges really are? I mean, already we all have faced the rising and falling gas prices as typical consumers, paying around 18% taxes/gallon just to fill our own vehicles.
But over the past what, 3 years?, companies who use desiel to fill their trucks (whether shipment, trash, or whatever) will charge their customers a fuel surcharge to help cushion their business with the increased prices. I couldn't figure this out when it first started, and now that the national average for gas and desiel has dropped, the charges have not.
It seems that once they get a taste of our money, they want to drain us as Dracula would drain his victim after the first taste of blood. Okay, so maybe for a year or so the extra money per customer helped. But once the gas prices began their decline, then it was just extra lining to these companies' pockets. And where does that leave us?
On the verge of broke. But, I will go and pay my bills and wish that somehow I could find something to tack a surcharge onto to make extra money. LOL!
