The Election 2006 Group on Gather has been growing by leaps and bounds over the last month and today surpassed 11,000 members! The discussion in the group has been insightful and thought-provoking thanks to the contributions of our many members and especially to the official Election 2006 Content Series writers, who have been reporting on political races around the country.
As part of the content series two correspondents, one left-leaning and one right-leaning, will provide 24-hour Election Night coverage on the Gather homepage and in the Election 2006 Group starting at 7pm EST on November 7. Congratulations to David McGill and Troy S. who were selected by the Gather Editorial Team to be the official Gather Election Night Correspondents! Join David and Troy on Election Night in discussing the election returns: share your thoughts, voice your opinions, be a part of the coverage!
No matter who wins on November 7, be sure to visit the Election 2006 group in the days following to read and participate in the post-election discussion. Also, stay tuned for a mid-November announcement pertaining to the discussion after the post-election smoke has cleared. We will build on the success of the Election 2006 group as we look beyond the 2006 election season with some great new content and contributors.
In another bit of news, Chris Matthews of MSNBC's Hardball has taken notice of your diligent and insightful conversations surrounding this year's elections. This afternoon, Gather's CEO Tom Gerace was on MSNBC's "Decision 2006" special on MSNBC to give Chris some insight into what happens when citizens like you have the opportunity to debate each other in a public forum. Keep an eye on MSNBC.com for a clip. We'll let you know if we get one first.
Stay current on the latest news from the 2006 midterm campaigns and join the conversation with Gather members of all political stripes!

And where exactly are these election returns???????
I thought this 2006 Election group was reporting the outcome in progress.
All I have been able to find so far are a bunch of Dems already spouting their disenfranchisement.
