GRRRRR, Hubby just lost his job

Hubby just drove in the driveway.  He is home early today.  It is 3:45.  Monday he had a fall at work and got banged up and bruised, thankfully he was not seriously injured.

I asked if everything was okay with him.  He said yes, but, they fired me.  Now there will be 2 unemployment checks coming in. 

We wanted to spend more time together, but.........

Ask our president and he will tell you the economy is doing much better......
Oh,gosh!!

I am glad he isn't seriously hurt. Was he fired because the fall was his fault? I am so sorry.

I am so sorry! Seems like when we have time to spend with each other, there is not enough money and when we have the money...their is not enough time... It is hard to find employment in our area. I hope things get better for you soon.

Can they do that? If he fell at work are they firing him to avoid workman's comp? I would get it in writing a reason for the firing.

We have been discussing the matter and to me it appears that they want to blame the accident on him. The mill he worked in is one of the lowest paying in our town. The turnover is high. I was surprised he lasted a year.

He just called the unemployment office and told them what happened. We shall see what happens now.

He needs to call a workers comp attorney. Even if he CAUSED the accident (as the company would claim) he can still get compensation. And a workers comp attorney doesn't collect unless you win the case. Make the call!!

If we was wrongfully terminated you can also sue for that.

Trust me, I know what I am talking about, I've been through this.

so glad that he wasn't hurt, but at the same time, they were suppose to give him a reason for being fired. I know here in Louisiana we are an at will state and the employees can be fired with no reason given. I would check into that in your state. Good luck

Best of luck,I hope there was a witness to what happend..? When my hubby was hurt the place had the nerve to say he wasn't hurt at work and refused his medical bills...companys can be so unthoughful..We had to fight took a long time but we got to stand up for what is right.
