Calling all Catholics

I know today is All Saints Day, but down the bayou they have a sign outside of the church saying that Thursday, November 2nd is All Fool's Day. It's a day to pray for all the fools who are stuck in purgatory.

I am 41 years old and have never heard of such a thing until yesterday, was this sign just trying to be comical or is there really an All Fool's Day?

November 1st is All Saints Day and November 2nd is All Souls Day. It sounds like a joke with bad taste.
Joe did say that November 2nd is All Soul's Day. If i get back down there in the next day or two, I will snap a shot of the sign, maybe I am missing some sort of hidden message in there.

I guess they got carried away with their advertising! I know our church (First Reformed) has one of those enclosed glass signs and they like to post something witty to catch the eyes of passing motorists. I always thought All Fools Day was on April 1 (or should that be April 15, for the Taxman?)! You'll have to investigate further, and see if their advertising approach was successful!

I was raised Catholic and too understand it to be all Souls Day. I don't know why a church would post that?

All that matters to me is that November 2 is my grandfather's birthday.
laughing at Leah....I don't know what's going on here, maybe the darn sign was just misrepresented of the message they were trying to convey. I thought it sounded rather spiteful that's why I asked ya'll.

My Bible does not say anything about "All saints day" or "All fools day". The Bible also does not say that Dec 25th is Jesus Christ birthday, which has become the biggest commercial day in America.

The only info I can find on all fools day is april 1st not november 2nd.

Dorine, it was a Catholic church, not exactly sure of why that was posted, but I have never been back down there since because my truck is broken still, we are going on day 2 with no truck. I am going to have a poor check two days in a row.
