The word "love" is flippantly bandied about. Love is publicly trashed and desecrated. But what does love really mean? Surely a life-style that wastes life mindlessly isn't a "loving" life-style. Where have we gone wrong? How can we right the wrong?
In religious talk we are challenged to be "Godlike". In the tradition of Christian Trinitarian Theology, God is Word, Light and Love. So, how do Christians be Godlike? By re-presenting God's Word, by reflecting God's Light and by enlarging God's Love. By trustful communication we re-present God's Word; by informed consciousness we reflect God's Light; and by conformed conscience we enlarge upon God's Love.
The webs of certainty, Faith, by which we understand and believe, are woven one thread at a time by trustful communication; the complexes of consciousness are intentional fabric patches of Faith that brighten Hope in the future; and every act of conscience is a choosing that enlarges Love. In the harmonic way of understanding and living Faith, Hope and Love, we come to discover that Faith is no ideology that contests who is more right and who is more wrong, rather it is about personally and socially living more rightly and less wrongly. Faith exemplifies; Faith discerns the requirements of Love and shows the Way of Godlikeness.
In practical, political terms, how do we personally and publicly, as communities socially and as nations globally live more rightly and less wrongly without being sanctimonious, imperious, violent and intolerant of one another?
