Quite awhile ago, I published my list and was a little, uh, perturbed by a couple of the comments so I deleted the list. I actually like my list and it has been haunting me for quite some time that I allowed a few people's opinions/comments to ... well, you know.
So, here's my list again. As a warning: out of 100, there are about two or three that talk about business stuff. Previously, that was insulting to some people.
Here goes nothing... uh, everything:
100 Interesting Things about Me
- I'm named after Petula Clark, but my name is pronounced "Pet chu la."
- The age difference between my first child and my second child is 13 years.
- The age difference between my second child and my third child is 15 months.
- My husband is 7 years younger than I am.
- My mother-in-law is the age of some of my friends.
- This is my first and last marriage. Or should I say I've only been married once? SIGH: I plan on living the rest of my life with my husband.
- I finished my college education after I got out of the Air Force. I had a young daughter, worked two jobs and carried 18 credits per semester.
- I was stationed in Rome… New York.
- I don't think Georgia gets cold after spending so many years in negative degree weather.
- I graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University.
- I love my church home and my Bishop who I believe is truly a man after God's heart.
- I want an even closer relationship with God.
- All three of my children's names start with an "A."
- The two girls have rhyming middle names, which rhyme with my little boy's first name. Oh, and my middle name rhymes with those names.
- I've worked full-time for two magazines, but have been a freelance writer and editor for more than 11 years.
- My oldest daughter is an honors and AP student.
- My stepson is almost 13 years old and has the same name (except for middle) as my husband.
- My husband is a senior financial representative at a financial institution, but he's a true entrepreneur/businessman. Since we've been married (just four years in September) he's sold Noni Juice, The Greatest Vitamin in the World and healthy coffee, among other things (all of which he still offers through his business: Wellness For Life. Imagine how interesting our life has been with these products and business – I actually drink the coffee everyday and take the vitamins.
- We're (my husband and I) are on our way to financial freedom through his newest business venture, which is changing lives. Check it out at www.fdirep.com/dbwright.
- I'm writing two books – one fiction and one non-fiction.
- My blog is an off shoot of the non-fiction book: http://petulawright.blogspot.com.
- I'm co-authoring a book with a physician about women's health.
- I was friends with the author Brandon Massey before he became famous in his genre. You can check him out at www.brandonmassey.com. Guess I'm now one of the little people.
- I really do want to be a published author even though it's taking me so long to write my books. Maybe I should stop spending so much time on Gather. HA!
- I'm a BzzAgent. If you've never heard of it check out: www.bzzagent.com.
- If you haven't already guessed by reading the last four/five: I'm addicted to the Internet and love "bzzing" about stuff that I know.
- I'm beginning to think that leaving this list will open me up to identity theft. (I don't know if that's a little paranoid, a little funny or a little sad!)
- I'm a closet comedian.
- I love to act.
- I wish I could have been a model. Not that I think I'm all that great looking, but there are a lot of things I wish I could have tried at least once.
- I want to be on a talk show, but refuse to reveal anything personal about myself on national t.v. so I've decided that I won't be on a talk show unless I'm talking about my newly released book. (Better get to writing!)
- I want to be on a reality show.
- I love reality shows!
- I don't watch soap operas! Well, except for Passions, but that doesn't count because they tricked me into watching it!
- I've kept a journal since I was 10 years old when my brother, who's 9 years older than me, gave me one for my birthday.
- I talk to my mother (who lives about 12 hours away) at least once a week. Why is that interesting? Because we didn't have that great of a relationship when I was growing up.
- I took piano lessons until I was about 12 or 13 years old and have always wished I could play by ear.
- My 20-year high school reunion was this month.
- I was in the band in high school. No, I didn't play an instrument. I was in, what some call, the color guard. I twirled a flag.
- I was in the band my first year of college at 17 years old.
- I write regularly for Atlanta goodlife magazine. You can peek at them at www.atlantagoodlifemagazine.com.
- I edit books, ghostwrite columns, write web content, etc.
- I used to travel and write reviews on a regular basis until I married and had two more children so this month I took my first media trip in more than four years. (To Utah!)
- So far my favorite vacation spot is Turks and Caicos and I've only met one person who has ever heard of it.
- My favorite place, where I wouldn't mind having a home, is Jamaica.
- Finding an excellent deal or getting something for free puts me on cloud nine. For months I'll talk about a $60 sweater I got for $3 (name brand and good quality) or a tub of baby wipes that I got for free with a coupon.
- I don't bring in a regular income, but I believe all the deals I find and the free stuff I get contribute to the household immensely.
- As one of my rewards for bzzing some things at www.bzzagent.com, I got an extremely nice, four piece set of luggage. (I earned enough points.)
- I have two brothers, but I haven't met one of them.
- I wish I could meet my middle brother and spend more time with my oldest brother.
- My dad died when I was 10 years old, my mother remarried when I was about 21 years old and when I see people from my childhood they comment on how much like my father my stepfather is.
- There's a gentleman that works at the local grocery store that reminds me of my stepfather.
- My father was a truck driver and, sadly, I sometimes still glance up – when I pass a tractor trailer on the highway – to see if it's my dad who's driving.
- My daughter and I share a mother/daughter journal.
- My husband and I have implemented family dating. Our daughter – and none of the other children for that matter – is "allowed" to have a boyfriend/girlfriend until we've met the person and their parents and visited their home.
- My favorite author is V.C. Andrews.
- My favorite food is chocolate. Okay, I know it's not a food, but hey!
- Actually I really don't have a favorite food so that's what I always say.
- I love action-packed movies, but I'll watch romantic movies. I kind of like comedies, but sometimes the comedy is so corny it seems a waste of time to me.
- I also really like scary movies, but don't get to watch them often because my husband doesn't like them. However, we went to see Snakes on the Plane (I think that's the right name) and not only was it really good, but I kept getting scared. That's saying a lot because normally I don't jump or scream and I think I screamed at least three times during that movie.
- I've always wished I were a twin.
- Well, everyone says my oldest daughter is my twin so I guess I was blessed with a twin… kind of!
- I don't like sales.
- I think I'm funny, but I don't know if anyone else does besides my husband, my oldest daughter and a close girlfriend of mine.
- I drink at least two cups of coffee a day when we're out of healthy coffee – don't tell my husband. When we have healthy coffee (it's called Gano Excel, by the way), I only drink one… usually!
- I now know that writing a list of 100 interesting things is hard and I hope people are still reading.
- Writing for a sitcom or a TV show would be a dream come true even though I've only written one TV script before. Remember: I want to do a lot of things at least once.
- Will Smith went to high school with a guy that I know so I almost know someone famous.
- My best friend is a man.
- My gall bladder was removed when I was about 24 years old. It was gangrened.
- I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma about six months after my gall bladder was removed. After six months of chemotherapy another doctor told me I never had it. I have constant bone pain because of that chemotherapy, which was almost 11 years ago.
- I've had bone marrow taken twice.
- My hair reaches to my waist.
- I don't eat beef or pork. I don't drink (cow's) milk; I don't even like milk.
- I don't feed my family beef or pork. … Or cow's milk.
- People forget I have teenagers and give me advice about when my two youngest children get to be teenagers.
- Most people think I'm in my 20s when they see me. Just recently people have started guessing early 30s and even though that's still not right it's scary to know that I'm actually looking older.
- I strongly believe in using natural and healthy products to improve health and wellbeing.
- I wish I could hire a nanny.
- I definitely want a part-time housekeeper.
- Sometimes I want to go back to work full-time and make an amount of money that I've never made just to be able to say that I've done it.
- I could stare into a blue sky, beautiful tree, a field of flowers for at least an hour. I believe the natural beauty of God's world should be appreciated and we should be thankful for it.
- I'm passionate about everything. It doesn't matter whether I'm excited, sad, mad, angry, happy, etc. … my hands fly as I talk, my voice rises and falls, my expressions go crazy and my husband thinks it's hilarious.
- Besides writing, my favorite past-time is reading next to that is watching a show I've recorded.
- We have a DVR and I hardly ever like to watch live TV. I would much rather record it and watch it later. No more commercials!
- I wish the phone would ring with friends calling to check on me instead of people wanting money.
- I wish I had learned to say "no" earlier in my life.
- I wish I could go back and change some things that I've done in life, but don't tell my brother that because he told me I would feel this way.
- I long for simpler times before email, voicemail, cell phones, color TV….
- I wonder if I pay someone if they'll potty train my toddlers for me.
- If I could do more or be more for my family maybe then I would be "perfect."
- I'm finally realizing there's no such thing as perfect.
- I'm also realizing the "to do" list is overrated, but I can't live without because I would forget what I am supposed to do.
- I want to renew my vows someday and invite all the people I wasn't able to invite to my wedding.
- Even though I've always wanted more than four children, it's a blessing to be able to have children.
- It would be a delight to teach creative writing or journalism at the college level.
- I want to learn how to swim like a fish.
- My favorite animal is a dolphin because once someone asked me if I were an animal what I would be. I said a dolphin because I think they're beautiful, mysterious, intelligent and creative, and I like to think that I'm those things as well.
- I don't care about brand names; I care about quality and style.
- I want to live until I'm at least 100.

Thanks David! You cracked me up again! I'm sure you have more than 10 interesting things. You have to. I can't imagine not because you always have something so funny and/or interesting to say.
1) I graduated from high school when I was sixteen.
2) I taught myself to write with my left hand.
3) I didn't learn to drive until I was 25.
4) I once bought a used car from a politician.
5) I used to win prizes in high school for stand-up comedy.
6) I wrote five drafts of a 160,000-word novel in longhand.
7) When I was fifteen, I was the youngest person in the US ever to become a member of the Baker Street Irregulars (the international Sherlock Holmes Society).
8) I can't be fingerprinted.
9) Two of my cats are siblings, but not littermates.
10) I've never dated a woman who was fewer than ten years older than I am.
11) Um. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Mmmmmm-hmmmmmm. Uh. Yeah.
David, I have never heard of the Int'l. Sherlock Holmes Society, but I touched his bed and saw his toilet. Does this count for anything? Ok, so I was in his house on Baker Street in London last year. You know.... we found it by accident. There was a Sherlock Holmes gift shop across the street with a mutt roaming about inside that looked like Sherlock's dog. What a fun place to stumble upon.
Heather -- I like your idea. I got a mental picture of a couple sharing their lists!
