Enough of A Doll House already. I am into my 6th page (supposed to be 5- 8 pages long) and a lot happier with it than I have been before - but I'm starting to get stOOpid. Time to take a break and do something else for a bit, I think. Should switch over to studying for my Women's Studies exam which is on Tuesday but I'd rather write an article on Gather.
There has been lots of posts this weekend on Gather which demonstrate some of the concepts we've been discussing in Women's Studies, actually - so I suppose I could count ~gathering~ as studying! Bit of a stretch - but it works for me.
It is really windy here today; the lake is up about as high as I've ever seen it in the 4+ years I've lived here. One of our neighbours didn't bring his boat in - or anchor it securely enough. It somehow ended up half on, half off his dock - the entire outboard motor is now submerged. It doesn't look like rescuing the boat is going to be at all fun! I wonder how waterproof outboard motors are? They are made to be on/in the water - but not like this one is, I'm guessing!
We would likely have lost our floating dock but for the fact that everyone was talking about the storm warnings before it started yesterday; I worked at our store for a bit yesterday afternoon so that hubby could come home and do a better job of anchoring it.
Its surprising that we haven't had any power outages so far - must be because I'm prepared for a change. Got a flashlight out, my laptop charged, and my files saved so that I can switch over to the laptop and still keep working if need be.
Oh well... time I was getting back to work, I suppose. Or perhaps I'll go make meatloaf instead.
