In case you were not aware of it, UPS drivers are not allowed to throw packages from their trucks. They need to get out of the truck and leave the package at the doorstep or ring bell and get a signature for package if required.
Yesterday I made my second call to the UPS toll-free number printed on the label to report that the driver tossed the package into the lawn of my neighbor. The number on the label was so small I needed my child's magnifying glass to read it. The first time I called without using it I got a wrong number. I asked the lady if that happens often and she said yes.
From using your own tracking number they can determine who the driver is and contact their supervisior to have this reported and then talk to the driver about their handling of customer packages.
From now on, especially with the holiday shopping season upon us, make a note of where the UPS package is, should it be left in your yard or porch area. Check the inside contents before tossing out the package label that has the tracking number to report this damage.
I heard the dogs across the street bark so I opened my door and found a package on my doorstep. I am assuming it was not thrown by the way it was placed there and also the package had a note saying Fragile, CDs.
As I picked it up thought I saw the package flying in the air going into the neighbor's yard. This was about 11:20 am California time. That neighbor works and comes home around 6:30 pm. I wonder if she stepped on the package since it is about dark at that time.
When sending items via UPS you might want to tag the package as fragile so they will not toss the package. Hopefully these lazy drivers will damage a lot of holiday presents.

One time, before we had the enclosed porch, a delivery was left, but it was inside a plastic bag.
You might want to change that sentence, Bonnie.
