No new articles to 'Back to School for Grownups' in way too long....
I suppose that, like me, you are all busy with midterms and papers and all that fun stuff? I have 2 exams next Tuesday; haven't even started studying, even though I have been off school all this week (Reading Week) ... have been struggling with the 5 papers that I have left to do for my courses this semester .... mostly with 1 in particular.
It is, of course, the first one due - next Wednesday ...and even though I have pages and pages of research, and even one section that is finished, and that I am happy with, I am about ready to chuck it and start over with a new play, a new topic or ..... something. I am sick to death of Nora (from the play A Doll House) ...everything I write about her is not good enough and I am hating every word of this blasted essay. And because I am stuck on this one, the other 4 are not getting done, and I really did intend to get at least a draft of each done this week. I left it yesterday, and worked on one of the others - got most of it done, at least, and a bunch of research and notes for a seminar I have to give later in the semester.
The PLAN was that I would go do something else, then come back to Nora, but now I'm back and I HAVE to get it written and it isn't going any better.
I'm going out for coffee with a friend during my 3 hour break from caregiving today - hopefully when I come back I will be able to write this darn thing ... or another, if that fails. I need to get to studying for my Women's Studies course as well....not looking forward to that exam at all as there are to be 70 multiple choice questions on it... I SUCK at multiple choice - can get 100% on most essay questions, but never EVER do well on multiple choice; I just go blank. Completely and utterly blank.
Really haven't gotten anywhere near as much done as I'd hoped this week; I'm disappointed in myself! Blasted Drama - spent way too much time spinning my wheels on it - somehow don't think that I will take the second part of the course next semester; it's not required. Of course, now that I will be teaching a full load on top of my own courses, my options for the courses I take will be somewhat reduced - can't even start to plan until I get my teaching schedule, which, they say, will take several weeks yet - but should be ready before I have to register for my courses. I hope!
