I feel a little bit bad that there were no attacks on US targets, other than men and women who are in active conflict zones at this moment. But I wonder if the reason has to do with our reduction in their abilities, or if there is a weakness in them. Since Al Qaeda was not effective in launching attacks during the holy month of ramadan, I wonder if the organization was so weakened. Still, there was the supposed plot to blow up the planes over the Atlantic which had some British ties. The football stadium plot would maybe have been stunning, but supposedly, that was just a joke.
Well, I am almost ready to board a cruise ship for a week! I'm excited!
We got in the mail today, our 3 Red Lobster gift cards. I kind of think that they should be good at Olive Garden as well, but one never knows with certainty.
This "reward" comes from paying off our balances on our discover cards at Sears. I don't think it's all that impressive, we only got $25 gift cards for $20 of reward cash, but hey, I guess that's a "free" $5, on top of a "free" $20 which we "earned" just by using a particular Credit Card to pay for larger expenses. I guess the interest charges are considerable, but we're pretty good about not carrying a balance. We do a pretty stand up job of trying to pay off the credit cards.
Fortunately, a large part of that probably has to do with the small house payment, the modest house, the nice small coziness of the house in the established neighborhood.
We don't have Granite countertops yet. We may never get them. That is probably okay. We enjoy the house. The kitchen is probably 10 years old, the floors are terrazzo, the rest of the house was probably built in the '60's sometime, we've had most of the floors ground down and cleaned then buffed.
When we ripped up the carpet that was in the bedrooms, the amount of sand was astonsihing.
The yard is mostly cypress mulch, on top of a couple of ground up trees, over some sandy soil which didn't support grass very much. We got some seeds called four o'clocks, and we've put them out front, and the four o'clocks like our front yard, they grow and propagate well.

What cruise are you going on? I'm leaving for a cruise a week from tomorrow....
but never the holy season of Lent or the holy season aof advent and we call Jewish holydays holidays?
Any one have any answeres
Of course, maybe Al Qaeda has more fertile ground to incite hatred of others in that region. Venezuela would probably enjoy seeing a new ceiling being set at around $200 a barrel for oil. Then they'd try to complain when oil settled down from that spike.
I don't regard Ramadan as a special time. It is based on the lunar calendar. I'm not even very sure how many nomads there are in the deserts who are nocturnal. Fasting seems kind of silly to me, but hey, if it works for you, who am I to say it is wrong? If it's going to be forced on me, then there could be issues.
Cheryl, I'm going on the Veendam out of Tampa, 7 days, Key West, Belize, Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala, Costa Maya, Mexico, and back to Tampa. Other than Key West, we haven't been to those three ports before.
Key West should be wild, that should be during their Fantasy Fest--a big thing down there, but it'll probably be winding down, should be there Sunday morning to afternoon.
Janelle, Vickey, right on! I'm glad my happiness is observed.
I guess happiness is relative too. I suppose I'm very happy, and moderately successful when it comes to managing much of my money, but there will probably be no children. I think I can live without the added expense, but perhaps I will also miss some of the poignant moments of watching young children find their own happiness.
Are you fucking INSANE?
I think you, Mugg, might be looking at things without an understanding of the whole.
Not that it is neccessarily a bad thing, it lust limits one's ability to understand.
I live here in NJ - my brother was almost killed on 9/11 (he was one of 13 first responding NYC firefighters to survive).
There is no hype - only people like you who think they are enlightened - but are surely wrong.
Thank God we have a government that is not only willing and able to protect us from further attacks - but from people like you as well!
I'm going to have to go along with Mugg Muggles here...
That is what you said.
In what way can this be misconstrued? Those are you very words.
I am not in favor of GWB or this ridiculous war, but I would never make such a statement!
And then all the comments to follow on how lucky you are to be so content.... What the hell is that????
Man, this is scary.
