I want to write you love letters

in French

to tell you how I love

not only you but the

Great All

of which you are a part.

Linen stationary scented with lavender,

purple ink of passion soaked into my fibers,

heart stains on my fingers.

I don't know French.

And clumsy words like wilted violets

Are the only thing I have to offer

placing them in a jelly glass

as I set table for one.
