despite your best efforts
not to reveal it,
deep within your heart
I can feel love and care.
my eyes fill with tears
for both of us
as I do not reciprocate
but am overwhelmed by
the depth of your feelings.
I am well aware
I do not deserve it,
but you can't help it.
the same way as I can't
force my feelings
however much I have tried
not to hurt you.

God knows, I did!

Right, you can't force someone to love you no matter what you do. If you love someone and they don't return that love you can still love that person. My mother didn't love me, don't remember her ever telling me she loved me in the 50 years before she died. I remember her telling me plenty of times she wished I would have died before I was born though. The look on her face when I told her I loved her the day she died showed pure hate. She died knowing I still loved her.

Thats too bad, Larry! I can't even think about my mother not loving me.

But atleast you know you loved her and will continue loving her. Thats the power of love. We cannot control it.
