Outside Rory's apartment. Logan calls Rory ostensibly from London and tells her to go up to the roof of the building to see a meteor shower. When she gets to the roof, Logan is there. He's briefly in town for a business meeting. Chris's place. Chris shows Lorelai a letter from Sherry (his ex wife). Sherry apologizes for everything. Back on the roof. Logan and Rory lie on the floor looking at the sky and talking. Rory tries to convince Logan that he needs to stay home instead of heading back out of town.
Rory's apartment. Rory wakes up in bed as Logan is preparing to leave for his pre-breakfast breakfast. The Dragonfly Inn. Michel, Sookie and Lorelai talk about some horrible stink in the Inn and theorize about its origin. The three of them head out into town, where lots of townspeople are headed to an impromptu town meeting. Lorelai wants to avoid seeing Luke so she goes back to the Inn. Taylor announces that the stench was caused by a derailed train carrying 3.5 tons of pickles. Taylor doesn't want to pick them up because they're on the Woodbridge side of the town line, but the town votes to have Stars Hollow clean up the mess. A playground. Chris and Lorelai briefly discuss the pickle incident at lunchtime. Then they talk about Friday night dinner. Then Chris talks about a conversation he had with Sherry that morning. She apparently asked Chris to send Gigi to Paris to stay with her for a few weeks. Lorelai is visibly unimpressed when Chris says he plans to send the Nanny with her instead of going himself, but she doesn't say anything.
Yale Daily News. Paris and Bill argue over who should be in charge of the paper while Rory is unavailable. Logan calls and excitedly announces that they bought the company; they settle their dinner plans. Dragonfly Inn. Michel is on the phone with someone being a wiseacre, and opens the door for Lorelai. They're still coping with the pickle-stink. Lorelai goes into the kitchen and talks with Sookie. Sookie decided to go with the pickle smell and made a big pot of pastrami. They discuss Sherry. Sookie is surprised that Lorelai didn't tell Chris that she didn't like the Paris-plan for Gigi. Lorelai briefly talks about Luke. Rory calls Lorelai and they have a cute exchange about pickles. Rory tells Lorelai she can't make Friday night dinner because Logan is in town. Lorelai tells her that she's taking Chris to dinner anyway. Restaurant. Rory arrives at the restaurant for dinner and meets Logan. She's surprised to see Logan's co-workers there, and is visibly surprised to see that Bobby is a hot blonde woman. She does NOT look pleased to be sharing her dinner with all of them.
In Chris's car. Lorelai complains about Chris's music (hair bands) and he says his car, his rules. Chris suggests a weekend away and Lorelai suggests an ice hotel. They have an odd conversation about vacations. Lorelai tells Chris that she doesn't think it's a good idea for Gigi to go to Paris alone and a tense discussion results when Chris accuses Lorelai of being threatened by Sherry. Emily answers the door at her home and is clearly tickled to see them together. The restaurant. Logan and his co-workers are discussing the deal and Rory looks really uncomfortable. Bobby tries to talk to Rory, and Rory is clearly threatened by her. Back to the Gilmore home. Richard, Emily, Lorelai and Chris talk at the dinner table. Emily gushes over Chris and Lorelai being an item. Richard and Emily are frenetic; Lorelai and Chris take little barbs at one another using veggie references. Lorelai asks Chris to speak to her in the bathroom and explains that she understands that Chris has changed since they were younger, and Chris gets upset and leaves.
Logan and Rory leave the restaurant. Logan insists that he knows something is wrong, and Rory tells him that she was disappointed with the evening. Rory complains that he didn't tell her Bobby was a girl, and nitpicks. Logan assures her that she has nothing to worry over. They kiss. Gilmore home. Richard and Emily are still talking nonsense while Lorelai and Chris sit quietly looking miserable. Chris suddenly asks Lorelai to go to Paris with him and Gigi so he can check things out. Lorelai agrees. Emily and Richard are confused and Emily laments the end of her pleasant evening. Rory arrives. Lorelai shows photos of Emily's time in jail on her phone, and Richard enthusiastically jumps up to see them. In Chris's car. Chris flips through the songs on the radio until they arrive at one that's acceptable to them all. They sit pleasantly listening until the pickle smell once again overcomes them.

I found Richard and Emily amusing, and the pickle stink was cute and amusing. I miss the little weird things like that. It seems like they used to be much more prominent in the storylines.

I also really enjoyed Richard and Emily and the pickle stink -- this seemed to be a good return to the old Gilmore Girls pace. Especially the phone conversation between Lore and Rori.
Anyway, thanks for the info.
Maybe I'm just tired of the show.
