This past week I have been doing a little bit of travel. It's always exciting and somewhat exotic. I went to San Pedro la Laguna with a chicken bus. I took a bus to Panajachel by the Atitlan Lake. When I had sat down el ayudante came and told me that I had to lay down until 41 street as they were not allowed to take passengers within cityzone. So the first part of my trip I did laying down. A very strange experience. Arriving in Panajachel, I went down to the peer to take a boat to San Pedro, turns out they where ripping me off, I was aware, but there wasn't anything I could do. I could stay in Pana or I could pay the 50 quetzales. They see white chick and then they think big fat wallet. Well I suppose I can understand, just too bad that the big fat wallet thing isn't true...
I found a hotel, and the standard was probably below any standard what so ever, al though it had private bath and not to mention HOT water, very important. I know I'm supposed to be a viking, but cold baths has never been my cup of tea. However what the hotel lacked in accommodations it made up for with the view. The view from the Balcony was spectalular.
But judge for yourselves, and I check in again on a later occasion.

Guatemala is a beautiful country, but it has its ugly part too, however that side you tend to avoid when vacationing.
