One of the main things that is keeping me from losing weight is what I call evening grazing. I come home from work, have dinner, and then sit down in front of the television or computer. I'm exhausted from a long day at work and don't feel like doing much else.
That, in itself, wouldn't be so bad. But I guess I feel I deserve "rewards" for a long day of work. I find myself returning to the kitchen over and over again looking for something to eat and never feeling "satisfied."
Does this happen to you? If so, have you found a way to catch yourself before you put your hand in the cookie jar? Have you found something you can do or tell yourself that helps you say no to another serving of dinner?
I know WHY I'm doing it. I just don't know why I'm feeling hungry, when I can't be hungry. And I don't know how to stop myself. I'd love some suggestions!

One day I just got thirsty and went through 2 cases of Pepsi, 18 orange sodas, a gallon of milk and got to the point I was opening cans of fruit to drink the juice, the more I drank the more the "drunk" feeling became - I was falling down and banging into walls getting to and from the restroom and ended up sitting in there telling my hubby bring me this bring me that while a constant flow of urine passed through me.
Two of my boys are an EMT and an Paramedic who told my husband you better get her to the hospital or she is going to die. For the next nine days I passed in and out of the coma, unable to see anything but shadows or to speak - I cold hear machines running, doctors and nurses talking to my husband but could not understand why no one was talking to me. I thought I had been in a terrible accident and would be this way for the rest of my life and remember praying in my mind for God to take me and not leave me like that. It's been a long hard road to recovery and a hard way to break the refrigerator shuffle at night - but seriously late night snacking holds no interest for me at all after that.
Hope this helps - avoid the disaster because this is where that road ends.
I don't think I'm diabetic. My husband is, I guess I could check my blood sugar too. I never thought of it. I doubt it though, it's not something that runs in my family, at least nothing I know of.
OK, so if you figure it out, let me know. One thing, I try to only drink water while on the computer. No soda, not even tea. Otherwise I don't think I'd drink water the rest of the day. I usually drink iced tea (not sweet).
Good luck!
Whatever it was, I'm hoping I can keep it up and make it a habit.
Oh, I also went to bed a little earlier last night, which was a good thing. I'm thinking I may be eating when I'm really tired. Maybe I'm triggered to eat to boost my energy level. What I really need is rest.
