It was a great summer day that day. My sister and I hoped onto the back of mom and dad's truck headed on a mission along with 5 of our best chickens. A mission of what we still were not sure of.
When we arrived at our destination, I saw this upright piano in the garage that I just fell in love with. What I hadn't known at that moment was that was part of our mission. We were trading 5 chickens for that beat up old looking piano that just sat in that garage.
We brought the piano home with us and my parents paid for the piano to be fixed, tuned and revarnished. It was a lovely piano, nothing like I had ever seen before. While the tuner was there, we found out that the first tuner of this piano had signed it. I dont recall the name, but it was dated in 1890 something right after his name. The names and dates of all previous tuners were scratched into the brass backing of the piano which still had all its original ivory keys.
I was given piano lessons for a few years and then we moved to Indiana. I continued to recieve lessons there for a short time, but what really makes this story interesting is what started happening about the time I quit taking lessons on this piano.
When I was home alone and would practice playing the piano, I would start to hear voices whispering in the background. Almost like they were coming out of the walls. I would quit playing and the voices would quit. On other occasions, I even seen a light like someone was shining a flashlight right at me from outside. I could even feel a presence watching me.
It came to the point that it became really eerie for me to play the piano while alone, so I opted to not play the piano when I was home alone anymore.
Eventually, I left home and started a life of my own. When I asked my parents what happened to the piano, the told me the gave it away. I don't know why I would be upset that they gave it away, it gave me chills to play the thing.
I never realized that objects could have eerie things surrounding them, but after that incident, I believe it can happen and know it does happen.
