Goodbye America
I'll miss you now you're gone
They took away our freedom
Where did we go wrong
I pledged allegiance to your flag
Now it's a desecrated rag
It stands for nothing that I love anymore
Our leaders closed freedom's door
We feared about the terrorists
Now they're just like the rest of us
The hypocrites decided to sell your soul
Now democracy is in the hole
Goodbye America
I wish that you could stay
But freedom is a memory
They took it all away
I'm feeling a lot like Patrick Henry
Who gave his life for liberty
I've got to scream and shout
Because there is no doubt
That the Pharasees have taken control
And our nation's lost it's soul
How could we have let it slip away
Now is the hour, now's the day
We've got to take it back from those thieves
Who lie to us while true patriots grieve
Our Constitution's burning as we sleep
Lit by a smirking little creep
Goodbye America
I'll mourn you now you're dead
How did we let it happen
We must be crazy in the head
Goodbye America
Too bad you left too soon
Now that torture's legal
We're facing our High Noon

--great line!

Very well said !!! (Sadly so).
We really need protest songs now more than ever before. As seemingly unpopular such sentiments are to the Faux News crowd, they must be said more frequently. I personally feel that the latest Neil Young song, "Let's Impeach the President," was a bit on the tame side compared to what he created during the late 60's-early 70's. I felt such anger and sorrow that I literally cried when I wrote these song lyrics.
I think your protest song is right on, and admire you for it. On the alternative stations there are protest songs. plus if you go to http://www.patrickdodd.com/music.html you'll be treated to some great protest music plus a video.
Keep speaking out.
