porgie, i do hope that bush makes wise decisions about iraq in the future. it would be terrible if he didn't. you don't have to worry about bush's approval numbers, his legacy or anything else. bush has fallen and he can't get up.

Trouble....it just amazes me, that we as a nation have not risen up to demand that the president fire Donald Rumsfeld, that we tolerate his smirking...STAY THE COURSE
rhetoric, when it is OBVIOUS that staying the course IS NOT WORKING.

Yes, it is mystifying. I'm from the "hippie days" I like to call 'em. We would have marched en mass over this kind of crap back then. The country has changed though. The almighty dollar has won out over social progressiveness, and people just don't care. It's a sad state of affairs. The thing is, I don't think it would really matter to this Administration. They would use any such activism against any good that it could bring about. The ACLU has gotten evidence that Bush & Co. are wiretapping and spying on the peace activist that are out there, but with Congress in their pocket and the Patriot Act, there is little that can be done about it. Where it was illegal for Nixon, it is now legal for Bush.

We are becoming a shell of what we once were, and no one cares. It's depressing really as I have two children just about ready to go out into the world. I don't see a bright future for our country, so suffice it to say my children either. The Reich-wing Christians see this too. They are promoting it as they see it as the "second coming", and the Reich-wing Republican's are using them and whomever they can to snatch as much wealth as possible for the day our economy collapses. And again, people just don't care...
