My virtual walk has taken me to Falmouth, ME. I just discovered this amazing forest. Since bug season is clearly over and the trees are at their peak of brillance, I am looking forward to a long walk through the woods. I can already hear the crunch of leaves under my feet and can smell the deep, musky scent of autumn.
I'll sit and ponder on a log in a thoughtful spot while I'm here. But, not too long. I'm lagging just a little ways behind my goal. In order to be a third of the way to Bar Harbor by the end of October, I need to walk 8624 steps per day for the rest of the month. My average is around 7000 steps. So, no more close parking spots for me. And the dogs are going to get at least a couple of walks this week. I don't want to get behind this month. It'll only make November and December even harder.

You must be a marathon walker! I doubt I will ever take a 20-km walk...but, you never know.
