Hi everyone,

My name is Joan, and I'm the Managing Editor for a new literary print journal called "Memoir (and)." Some of you may have seen the Call for Submissions I published here a few weeks ago.

I'm writing to let you know our new web site is up, and to invite you to take a look. www.memoirjournal.com

My co-editors and I know that many of you have creative nonfiction and poetry of your own that belongs in print! So we hope you'll consider submitting to Memoir (and). Deadline for our inaugural issue is December 31, 2006.

I adore you, and I think you look just as geeky now as you did in high school.

Uh. Did I say that? Never mind.

Anyone reading this, submit yer stuff. Mr. Rochester says so, and you know what happens when you don't listen to Mr. Rochester . . . your participles start to dangle, and your clauses are unfulfilled.

Thanks, guys. We're excited about it. Reading submissions is really an unexpected pleasure. I mean, I knew I would enjoy it--reading so many different narratives with at least a spine of truth in them--but not as much as I do. I look forward to getting some from "Gatherers."

Hint for getting participants: look around here, and comment on people's stuff if you have time, esp. in the groups you're interested in. They'll drift over here to check you out.
