Registration Deadlines

The deadline for registering or transferring your voter registration is 30 days before an election. If you register by mail, your application must be postmarked by the 30-day cutoff or it will not become effective until after the election.

In Mass. we have till tomorrow...The main reason I wrote the P.S. was for the individuals to check out there own states...and, if they do not qualify for this November they can vote in the next election. If we can have a few more to qualify for Mass. I 'll be happy & it's all about a friendly reminder to exercise our rights.

Good for you and I personally feel our education system should promote and debate the values of our political system and what a privilege it is to vote...our young people can make a huge difference and need to be instructed as to why and I honestly do not feel it is addressed in the high schools as it should be...having raised 4 children and having 4 grandchildren I am really disappointed in what they cover in school in their social studies and history classes....its almost archaic..The other day my 6th grade grandchild who is attending what is considered a good school, wanted to know what the difference was between Republican and Democrate...If they can be taught sex, they can be taught responsibility of being the part of a society that values and supports freedom of speech and the voting process.....our colleges do not address this privilege either...

Education is and will always be the success of a strong society and healthy economy...why is it always the last area of funding on the scale of money distribution...?

I think we here all on Gather would agree with your statement, Education is the success of our society and the future of our children. I hope we elect our officials that strongly believe in "Leave no child behind." And, take action upon those words...rather then just use them in a speech.
