Well, the news keeps telling me that the colors haven't piqued yet in the Poconos, but I know better. We went up again this past weekend and the colors at Lake Harmony and Big Boulder were not as pretty as last weekend. We took about 50 pictures or so from the Big Boulder area. It's kind of sad, they cleared a lot of land at the bottom of the mountain which meets the lake for new houses. I'm not particularly fond of the these developments because they remind me too much of the city I try to escape. All the houses look the same and are kind of close together. I like our area over at Snow Ridge because of the woodsy setting, the ponds and privacy. I guess to each their own. The houses are nice, a little over priced though.

The weather was cold, in the low 50's. The colors were more subdued but pretty when the sun was out. We rode the ski lift and wondered around at the top of the mountain. One very neat scene was looking out in the distance and seeing the Pocono Race Track. My husband tried to take a picture but you really can't see it as well as we could being there.

The home owner's association had their annual picnic which was very nice. This is the only opportunity to ride the lift without snow. It is a better scene than the Snow Ridge ski lift area as you can see in the pictures.

This week started the hunting season. As an animal lover, I hate to see the excitement printed in the local papers. This week started the squirrel hunts. I think bow and arrows are now legally allowed to be used.

We won't be going up this coming weekend since it is my youngest grand daughter's first birthday. My husband may go up to visit Hawk's Mountain and if he does I'll have more pictures. His sister and brother-in-law only have this weekend available to go up. After this I think it will be too cold to enjoy the hike.
