Wake up America! The Republicans run to these Gather Articles defending Repukian Bottom Feeding Scum to the death, and yet with every passing day, more and more fetid sewer gases seep to the surface as one scandal after another makes its way to the light of day. I keep wanting to discuss the WRONG POLICIES of the entire Bush/Republican Administration, but am being kept too busy reporting these scandals.
First, the Republican/Foley Child Predator Scandal is growing, and my own Republican Tom Delay Congress Woman is caught up in the thick of it, which maybe explains why she's hiding from the voters here in New York's 19th district. She was in charge of the Page Program from 1998 through 2001, yet claims IGNNORANCE to what was going on. Now today the news is reporting that openly gay Republican Congressman Kolbe (who spoke to Foley in 2000) is being investigated by the FBI himself for a weekend camping trip he took with some pages BACK IN 1996! HELLO...this means REPUBLICAN PERVS and PREDATORS have been preying on our children FOR TEN YEARS!

Justice Department Takes Look at Trip By Former Pages With Arizona Rep. Kolbe
Friday, October 13, 2006
WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors in Arizona have opened a preliminary investigation into a camping trip that an Arizona lawmaker took with two former pages and others in 1996, according to a law enforcement official.
Then we have the whole Jack Abramoff, Robert Ney, Duke Cunningham scandal with a gaggle of Republicans feeding at the teat of corruption, taking lavish trips, recieving boats and cars while voting against average Americans. Now, we have again another Republican UNDER A NEW INVESTIGATION. Seems that the FBI is now investigating Representative Curt Weldon of Pa.
Seems he was helping his LOBBYIST daughter SECURE CONTRACTS for her clients! Talk about nepatism! Wake up to the reality, the Bush Republican Third Reich makes Nixon look like Mother Teresa! Those supposed moderates in the middle, those Republican voting Democrats need to wake up and go to the polls in November to VOTE THESE BUMS OUT.

FBI Investigating Pa. Rep. Curt Weldon
Saturday, October 14, 2006
WASHINGTON — The FBI is investigating whether Rep. Curt Weldon, R-Pa., used his influence to secure lobbying and consulting contracts for his daughter, two people familiar with the inquiry said Saturday.

i'm a republican but i haven't been defending scandalous behavior.
the way i see it, parties that have been in power for a while usually start having some corruption problems. in this case, the congress has been republican for some time. i just think that power corrupts and it reflects the poor morals of a few people.
It took me a long time to understand what my parents taught me a long time ago, and I am 34 years old, that telling the truth and standing up to for principal, despite the opposition, is a true test of someones character and integrity.
Unfortunately, I am finding little integrity on both sides of the aisle, and a lack of common sense.
Ted Kennedy, JFK, Robert and a whole slew of Kennedy kin have been in the midst of scandals for over 40 years. Yet, they remain in office or other public services. (Even in prison they raise their voices.) It is disgusting to watch both sides slinging mud. When push comes to shove, both sides are about equal in the morals debate.
The main issues facing this election is which party will provide the proper protection our country needs for preservation. The Republicans have always put America and its safety and freedom at the top of their campaign issues. There are rats on every ship, but they don't sink the ship. I think American voters will weigh the issues of safety and domestic policy when they stand in the voter's booth. Sorry, Porgie, I firmly believe the Democrats come up short on both issues and I believe the voters will consider the safety of their families outweighs everything else. I, for one, will opt for digging a shelter in my back yard if the Democrats take over. They believe in talking the opposition to death without ever touching on the true issues. "I voted for before I voted against..."seems to be their outlook. Doesn't make one feel very secure does it?
Keeping us safer....HELLO, we have more terrorists now than when Bush took office, and the war in Iraq is a DISMAL FAILURE.
The Foley Scandal....come on, when we first heard of this, it was going on for a couple months, then one year, then three years, and now we have an investigation going on that says Republicans (plural) have been molesting the male pages for ten years! Keep in mind, since 1994, two of the three Congressman on the page board are Republicans.
How come whenever republicans bring up democratic scandals, they can't seem to think of any within the past decade? I could sure help you folks out, if you'd like. The democrats HAVE had their share of scandals, and there are even a few involved right now, but the dead Kennedy's? Come on. That is so incredibly weak. Cripes, I suppose we could go back to Ulysses Grant if you want examples of more filthy republican scandal as well.
" I firmly believe the Democrats come up short on both issues and I believe the voters will consider the safety of their families outweighs everything else. "
Sorry, but polls indicate the American public favors democrats in every single issue now, including national security. Most have figured out by now that Republicans have done nothing to make us safer, and plenty to make us more at risk. It's time for the big flush.
"I, for one, will opt for digging a shelter in my back yard if the Democrats take over."
Tell us all what your republicans have done for you to make you feel so incredibly secure? And please, don't say "fighting them over there..." because according to Bush's own NIE report recently declassified, Bush's Iraqmire is causing MORE terrorists and putting us MORE at risk.
""I voted for before I voted against..."seems to be their outlook. Doesn't make one feel very secure does it?"
Apparently, you're unaware of how many of your own republican politicians are singing the exact same tune, now that the truth about Bush's great lie has been uncovered. Are you going to make sure to find out which republicans are now opposed to the war in Iraq, as well as to make sure that you fully understand each democratic candidates position, or are you just going to continue to use this false talking point to determine your selections?
Ted Kennedy isn't dead... oh wait, his old girlfriend is.
Congress is one big "scratch your back, I'll scratch yours" fest as well as a haven for people who believe they are above the law because they make it. What we need to have to cut down on scandalous behavior on BOTH sides is term limits.
See what I mean? They can't seem to find any democratic scandals in the past generation worth discussing. An interesting little side note to the Studds issue was that a republican was scolded by congress at the same time Studds was. Ooopsie. I guess ol' cap'n weed and his cohort forgot about that.
"What we need to have to cut down on scandalous behavior on BOTH sides is term limits"
Term limits would do nothing to stem the corruption. The corruption stems from corporate cash, not from lack of term limits. Term limits would mean that lobbyists would focus their money on the candidate currently in power, which is what they do now. Public campaign finance and an end to all corporate influence is the only solution. It used to be illegal for any member of a corporation to have any direct contact with a politician at any level. We need to bring this back. In some states, the crime carried with it a "death penalty" for the corporation, whereby the state would tear up the offending corporation's charter and dissolve them.
What we need is transparency and an end to incumbent greediness. One is term limits, that gets rid of the incumbency problem. If you know you won't be around, you won't be beholden to shit. Transparency can be resolved by making sure everyone knows who's sponsoring earmarks, who's pushing what portion of the bill, etc. If you know what these people are up to, you can protest. If not, well, then they get away with murder.
