Well, made it so far. Handed in several papers this past week but still tons to go. Right now I'm working on - or I WOULD be working on if Gather hadn't distracted me - an article on the topic of 'Women: Our Own Worst Enemies?" It is due on Tuesday, and then I have a draft of another paper for my Modern & Contemporary Drama class due on Wednesday. Once those 2 are done and out of the way I will move on to the paper that I have been avoiding. ...and the others that I'm not avoiding, just haven't been able to get to yet.
My prof for one of those asked me what I'd chosen for my topic and was surprised that I hadn't chosen one yet; I am usually way ahead of the game that way. But I am waiting for feedback from her - she's got 2 papers from me so far; says we'll get at least 1 back next week. Once I have some information about how she marks and so on, I'll be ready to get working on hers. But in the meantime there are so many to get out of the way! I'm feeling somewhat swamped, but fortunately, we've gone to a new system where we get a Reading Week in the middle of every semester now; ours is next week and I am SO looking forward to it. I'm hoping that by the end of it I will have managed at least a draft of everything! That will be a lot of work, but really, I need to get it all done or I'm just going to be swamped later.
I have a test this coming Tuesday as well; have to study for that. It is on the prologue to Canterbury Tales by Chaucer and all of Henry V .... I have tons and tons of notes to go through and try to memorize. I HATE multiple choice/ true or false tests. I don't do well on them at ALL. Which is really sad, given that one of the things I teach workshops in is on taking multiple choice tests! There are so called strategies that are supposed to help, but I don't find them all that helpful, actually....at least not for this prof - he's probably taken the workshop at some point LOL
Anyway, I should get back to work - need to find a resource that says something about women's right to make their own choices...wouldn't think it would be hard, but I'm getting all sorts of unrelated drivel in my searches. Online research was SO much easier in College, when I could use Google. Now we are limited to peer reviewed journal articles only ...insert rolling eyes here! Not even allowed to cite my textbook for women's studies because its not peer reviewed!!!! How lame is that? It has everything I need but can't use it.... seems rather a bizare state of affairs to me; why make me buy it if its not considered a reliable source?
Anyway ....hi ho hi ho its back to work I go ... only got half an hour before the worker shows up to take over with my Mother in law so that I can go work without interuptions... need to find some resources before I leave!
Hope everyone is having a great semester so far :)
