If you are a Democrat, if you are voting for a Democrat because you are ready for a CHANGE in Washington, DC now is the time to make a donation to A) your favorite local Democratic challenger who is taking on a well heeled Republican Canidate, or B) to the national Democratic Party.
The Republicans have almost $100 MILLION more nationally than the Democrats, but they are faltering. Think about this...100,000 people each donating $100 would be enough money to successfully compete in TEN RACES where right now Democratic Candidates are out gunned financially.
The Washington Post has an article in today's paper announcing that the Republican Party is ABANDONING many races, and spending heavily between now and November in a DESPARATE BID to hold onto the majority, if only barely. This means certain states Congressional races are now UP FOR GRABS where they were not. This gives the Democrats a HUGE OPENING.
This is WHERE YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. $5, $10 or even $20 dollars in donations RIGHT NOW, could see the Democrats pick up a few additional seats. Right now, the Democratic National Party is polling additional races to see if they are competitive enough to jump into with NATIONAL FUNDING. Moveon.Org this week raised over $750,000 in ONE DAY with small donations. That kind of money COULD SWING A DISTRICT, such as the 19th Congressional District here in New York where John Hall is giving incumbent Tom De Lay Republican Sue Kelly a run for her money, even though she has more than ONE MILLION dollars more to spend than his campaign does. Also, you can donate pens, poster board, hand soaps and paper towels to help keep down office expenses, which would allow him to maybe run an extra television ad, or make a couple more appearences between now and the election. Go buy two rolls of paper towels, send one to John Hall, and one to your local Democratic Canidate of choice...every dollar saved towards advertising makes a difference!

Democrats on the other hand, are so concentrated on the coasts, in the major cities, they are forced to beg in the streets like the bums. Even in the major cities there aren't many of them, at least, not many of them to put their money where their mouth is.
The Democrats can't raise money for the same reason Air America announced bankruptcy. The idea of the Democrats, "we hate Bush" isn't sufficient to inspire people to give money.
You need positive ideas, and a real agenda for direction, otherwise people don't get interested, and they don't give money if they aren't interested.
