What reaction should the world have to NK's test?

Should we arm Japan?  Now Japan will probably feel the need to protect herself.  Can you blame her?  Taiwan probably needs Nukes, and South Korea also needs to maintain an arsenal.  Will China do anything?

Will there be future powerful earthquakes in China (remember that Pakistan tested it's own nuke in 1998, then the large earthquake happened a few years later)?

The likely scenario is that N Korea will isolate itself to the point that it becomes so desperate that it either invades the South or the people try to move into China. At that point, China will move in and take over N Korea. And the rest of the world will pretend to see nothing.

Oh, but Stevo, perhaps the American ones will need to devalue some north korean real estate. Yes, NK really does not pose a significant threat to the United States, but the non-nuclear neighbors may be concerned.

This is probably a good thing for sparking some kind of action in the impotent Security Council. I believe we really need to let China deal with N.K as they have the most to loose by the actions of that Napoleanic maniac. China will not tolerate a mass migration of N.K 's into China to grab a bowl of rice.

I believe this may be much more sinister in the Iran situation. He has proven he has a nuke FOR SALE. We need to moniter every item in and out of Iran and N.K. from here on. A sale to Iran is almost certain to cause one being set off in the ME to bring the Twelveth Caliphate to return. (a child supposed to be in a well in the 10th Century that is the direct descendent to Mohaumid (sp)). The open market on nukes is now open.

You are right on that one Grateful1. China needs to handle this one since the USA has to handle every other problem in the world. The world expects us to, and then criticizes us for it. Its always been that way for us. But we definately need to make sure N Korea does not hand over any weapons to Iran. This is definately an advertisment for their weapons. They arent going to launch them at anybody, they want to sell them for food for their starving nation.

No, I don't think they want food for their starving population. China wants to be prudent. China wants to be constructive. Ban Ki-moon, the new leader of the UN favors engagement of North Korea.

These NeoCons have ruined everything for the USA. They have sacked our budget, ruined our reputation, and instigated war, on every front.
It is a sad state of affairs.
