The moon gives way to dawn's light,
As the day begins anew.
The sun stretching, yawning,
Its beams unfurling golden fingers,
Bending low to touch the earth,
Diamonds mingle with the dew,
As the moon scuttles off to sleep.
The fragrant smell of coffee brews.
Silence shatters at baby's feeding time.
Older brother bounces on the king-size bed,
And Mother's eyes open wide.
Diamonds mingle with the dew,
As the moon scuttles off to sleep.
The day wears on and takes its toil,
Soon evening shadows lengthen,
And the sun concedes till once again,
Diamonds mingle with the dew,
And the moon scuttles off to sleep.
