I sit upon my balcony,
Surrounded by the night,
Upon my shoulders, darkness lay,
As a maidens' courting shawl,
And the night sounds become a gentleman,
And replicates his southern drawl.
All the stars that should in glory shine,
Can only hang their heads in shame,
When my eyes light up in brightness,
At mere mention of his name.
The gentle breeze that plays,
A symphony among the garden blooms,
Stirs up such sweet fragrance,
That washes through my auburn hair.
I am enchanted by this gentleman,
As his many passioned kisses,
Becomes my hearts only one desire.
Then when I awaken,
To the touch of morning dew,
I clasp my hands and make a wish,
I wished would soon be true
